When I try to access it from the external bootable drive using Disk Utility I can't see it either. It was buried somewhere in the specs on the apple website for my serial number. HB 2122, or the Fair Repair Act, guarantees our right to repair digital equipment like computers, refrigerators, cell phones and tractors. But, in that case I am clueless as to why Disk Utility won't see it.
